It wasn’t until his mid 30’s that Stephen took the plunge and tried Pilates for himself. After his first session he knew it was a “smart” way to work the body and the mind, that it was very different to yoga and that he wanted more. What followed was years of personal practice and training in all various styles, from Classical to Stotts and Polestar, covering Reformer, Mat, pre-post natal and Apparatus.
Mid 2018 Stephen began the process of Bridging his existing skills and qualifications into a Full Authentic Certification via Authentic Pilates Education International. With almost 20 years of experience Stephen still invests heavily in his continuing education and deepening his understanding of The Pilates Method and has recently started working towards another certification under Romana Pilates.
Outside of the studio Stephen likes riding his motorbike, a Royal Enfield Classic, making pottery on his pottery wheel and regular Bikram yoga. All activities that use the Pilates principles: Concentration, Control, Centering, Flow, Precision and Breathing.
