As a commercial lawyer I spend a fair bit of time at my desk and at the time of joining was hitting the pavements a lot and dabbling in a bit of golf.
Having suffered from persistent neck, shoulder and back issues I was looking to build strength and improve my range of movement in those areas.
I first started Pilates about 1.5 years ago, having received a recommendation from someone in my running group. I had never tried Yoga or Pilates so was as green as they come (and as uncoordinated!).
I started with the Introductory Package comprising 3 private sessions and have been continuing with private sessions once a week ever since.
I definitely think I have more strength and mobility since joining The Pilates Loft. I’m still a beginner but Pilates is now a regular part of my week and is likely to continue to be so.
While I can’t compare to other studios what I like about Stephen and The Pilates Loft is that each session is tailored to whatever my body needs focus on or whatever goals I am working towards. Initially the focus was on running. These days it’s more about golf. While structured around some core exercises each session is different, both in terms of intensity and complexity and I enjoy the variety. Stephen is very personal and flexible in his approach, be it juggling his schedule to fit me in at a time that works with mine, or changing the session focus mid-way through if I’m not really responding to the chosen exercises or equipment. For anyone looking for a studio with a personal and tailored approach I absolutely recommend paying The Pilates Loft a visit.”
